Karol G Just Dropped a Free Immersive Album Experience in Medellín. Here’s How To Apply
Forget red carpets and press junkets. Karol G is throwing a party, and you’re invited—if you’re lucky enough to snag a spot.
To celebrate her new album Tropicoqueta, the Colombian superstar is teaming up with Airbnb for a one-night-only experience in her hometown of Medellín. According to Infobae, Karol G will personally host 24 fans at a secret rooftop location on July 29, where she’s curated a full sensory experience inspired by the music and mood of her fifth studio album.
The vibe? Personal. Tropical. Fully Karol.
What to expect from Karol G’s experience in Medellín
The event is called Siente la vibra Tropicoqueta con Karol G. And it’s designed to be immersive from the second you arrive. El Espectador reports that guests will walk into a rooftop transformed into a lush tropical oasis filled with exotic flowers and jungle plants.
The night starts with a stop at the “Pineapple Welcome Area,” where attendees will sip piña coladas served inside real pineapples. According to Airbnb, the cocktails come straight from a traditional Medellín street cart.
Inside, the experience gets even more interactive. There’s a “Showgirl Sparkle” station where local artists will hand-paint body art with themes from the album. Think coconuts, glittery flowers, and vibrant designs, all done with shimmering detail.
Karol G’s experience in Medellín comes with full tropical glam
According to La Cuarta, Karol G’s rooftop bash also includes personalized jewelry-making. At the “Tropical Treasures Bar,” guests can craft bracelets using charms chosen by Karol herself, many of them sourced from local Medellín markets. Expect everything from mini guayabas and musical notes to hearts and pineapples.
But this isn’t just a photo op. Later in the night, fans will join in live music performances by Los Tomate’s, one of Karol G’s favorite orchestras. Infobae reported that guests will even get to play along with instruments like bongos, maracas, and tambourines.
It’s meant to blur the line between artist and audience. A space where music becomes collaborative, not just performative.
How to join Karol G’s experience in Medellín
Airbnb opened applications for the experience on June 30, and the window will remain open until July 5, according to El Espectador. The event is free, but fans must apply through airbnb.com/karolg.
Applicants must be 18 or older and answer a question about why they want to participate in the experience. While the evening itself is free, selected guests will need to cover their own travel and lodging expenses.
Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky first teased the collaboration in May, according to Infobae. But the details remained a mystery until now.
Karol G on why this moment matters
In a statement shared by Airbnb and reported by Careta, Karol G explained her vision:
“I’m very excited to collaborate with Airbnb to bring this experience to life. My new album Tropicoqueta was created to celebrate with my fans. It’s about embracing your most authentic self, with a song for every mood and moment in life. I hope this experience lets people truly feel that connection, surrounded by the things I love most, in the place I love most—my home, Colombia.”
The night ends with a toast led by Karol herself. According to Airbnb, she’ll raise a glass of her favorite drink, a Paloma (or a non-alcoholic version), to close the night.
