There has been a lot of talk about the male loneliness epidemic. Men are out there complaining that they are lonely and just can’t seem to find someone who wants to spend time with them. A recent TikTok video by an Argentine man is setting off another round of discussion about this loneliness situation. The internet seems to have a lot to say about this topic since the video went viral.

Another man has entered into the male loneliness epidemic chat

TikTok user Marcos Calatrava posted a video lamenting that he is not able to find a girlfriend. He listed off the qualities that he thinks would make him a total catch. Some are pretty basic, like having a job, being a family man, having a good relationship with his family, and not partying every weekend. However, there were two things he mentioned that caught everyone’s attention.

“I have a U.S. passport, I have blue eyes,” Calatrava mentioned in his video. Then he goes into a spiel about how still no woman wants to date him. He claims that the women he asks always say no, even the women he already knows.

The video started a conversation in the comments

“I ask, how are you in a relationship? ????,” one social media user commented.

Calatrava continues to say what so many men have said in the past. According to him, women only want bad guys. Not just any bad guys. He asserts that women are looking for men who are very much on the wrong side of things.

“Alright, let’s see what kind of guys they go for,” Calatrava says. “Drug addicts, getting wasted every weekend, don’t like to work, treat them like they’re just another girl in the lineup.”

It is definitely giving “I’m a good guy” vibes.

A new study shows that single women are happier than married women

@hopeyoufindyourdad

@Cyzor women are finding comfort and independence in being single. I don’t blame them, I’m not a cat person personally but a cat seems a lot better than trying to date a boy (i said not ironically as i am currently dating a man) #dating #relationshipadvice #feminism #cattok #greenscreenvideo #greenscreen

A study by the University of Toronto looked into what was happening with men and women and why men seem not to be faring as well. The study asked 6,000 adults four things: how happy they are in their current relationship, how happy they are with their life, how sexually fulfilled they are, and how much they want a relationship. The results came back showing that single women are happier than single men.

According to Psychology Today, the male loneliness epidemic isn’t just tied to relationships. Men are struggling to make and maintain friendships. Furthermore, the male loneliness epidemic is exacerbated by men ditching relationships with other men in pursuit of financial goals. Yet, the pursuit of wealth accumulation and material goods has been proven to lead to less overall happiness.

Politics also plays a major role in how women are dating. If the male loneliness epidemic wasn’t difficult enough for young men, their voting might be working against them. According to data, Gen Z has the largest political gender divide than any other age group.

According to an NBC News poll, 53 percent of Gen Z women align with the Democratic Party, while 35 percent of Gen Z men also align with the Democratic Party. Thirty-eight percent of Gen Z men identify with Republican politics, as well as 20 percent of Gen Z women.

A different study showed that women are more likely not to date someone who voted for President Trump.
