Anahí Honors Karol G During RBD Tour in Colombia — ‘You and Me Forever’
If you thought Karol G and Anahí singing “Sálvame” during the Bichota’s Mexico City concert back in June was one for the books, then brace yourself and grab some tissues.
At this point, there’s no question these two artists admire each other deeply. Both have expressed their love for each other’s music and respect for one another. But one thing fans did not expect was the way the RBD member paid tribute to the “Mi Ex Tenía Razón” star in her native Medellín.
Anahí is currently visiting Colombia as part of the “Soy Rebelde” tour alongside other stars of the revered early 2000s telenovela, including Christian Chávez, Maite Perroni, Christopher von Uckermann, and Dulce María.
The superstar took center stage wearing a bright pink dress, vest, cowboy hat, and knee-high boots decorated with giant sequins.
“Colombia! Papa G!” she started. Then, she took off the vest to reveal that her dress was etched with the words “Team Bichota.”
“Carolina!! Love is paid with love!” she screamed. “You and me forever!” And the rest is amigahood.
Karol G says she felt “honored” by Anahí’s unexpected Medellín tribute
Moved by Anahí’s recognition, Karol G took to her Instagram Stories with a touching response.
“Anahí, my queen. I want to share how profoundly happy, surprised, and moved I am after being honored by you,” she wrote. “In a world where competition and personal interests often prevail, it’s a true gift finding someone who genuinely recognizes the impact and courage others have in their life.”
Then, she thanked the Mexican songstress for keeping her in mind while touring and sharing the limelight with her.
“Knowing that you thought of me even as you’re living such a sublime moment in your career, thought of me, and planned this detail that would make me feel exactly as I feel now..” she continued. “I can’t find the words to describe this feeling, the gratitude and happiness I feel in my heart right now.”
Adding, “It makes me so happy to know that you value and appreciate all we’ve been through together just as much as I did. Thank you, with all my heart, for this gesture, and I hope our friendship and connection continue to be this special as time goes by. You and me forever.”
Anahí’s previous performance with Karol G marked her return to the stage after an 11-year hiatus
In June, Karol G surprised her fans in CDMX when Anahí showed up to sing “Sálvame” after an 11-year hiatus. Accepting the Medellín native’s invitation to join her was shocking for everyone.
As the star shared on Instagram, “11 years offstage, 11 years of invitations that you rejected because you had other ideals and you accepted mine.????????????MINE!!!! You accepted me, and I felt so great and so special.”
Back then, Karol G wrote she would “never forget” this moment, and fans are surely not forgetting this one either.
As one X user wrote, “Anahi yelling ‘Carolina, love is paid with love, my queen I love you. You and me forever’ is the most beautiful thing.” Adding how happy she felt that two of her idols were supporting each other.
