Selena Gomez’s Horchata-Inspired Oreo Is a Sweet Love Letter to Her Roots
If you grew up drinking horchata with your abuela on a warm afternoon, get ready to taste that memory in cookie form.
The OREO brand has teamed up with none other than Selena Gomez for a dreamy limited-edition release, and it’s more than just a celebrity collab. This cookie is a tribute to culture, nostalgia, and the kind of comfort that tastes like home.
Selena Gomez went full horchata mode for this flavor
According to the official press release from Mondelez International, Selena co-developed the new OREO to reflect her personal story and favorite childhood flavors. The result? A cookie that pays homage to horchata—the sweet, cinnamon-spiced drink beloved across Latin America.
The cookie layers chocolate and cinnamon creme with sweetened condensed milk creme, plus cinnamon sugar inclusions, all between chocolate cinnamon-flavored wafers. “The cinnamon flavor gives it this horchata feel, and I’m excited for my fans to try it,” Selena said in the statement.
She added to PEOPLE that horchata was one of her favorite childhood drinks and that she wanted each bite to bring up a sense of familiarity, even for those who’ve never had it. “Growing up, horchata was one of those comforting things for me,” Gomez said. “I really wanted to bottle up that memory and share it through this cookie.”
Selena Gomez brought her Selenators into the design, too
Beyond the flavor, Selena made sure her fans felt included. The Limited Edition Selena Gomez OREO Cookies come with six unique embossments designed just for Selenators—including one that literally says “Selenators.” And in a first for the OREO brand, one of the cookies (found in approximately every three packs) features Selena’s actual signature.
According to CNN, developing the cookie took about 18 months. Michelle Deignan, Vice President of OREO U.S., said Selena was the “perfect partner” thanks to her global appeal and deep fan connection.
Selena Gomez also made this collab about mental health
As with most things Selena touches lately, there’s more than meets the eye. This collab isn’t just sweet—it’s also meaningful. OREO will be donating to the Rare Impact Fund, the mental health nonprofit Selena launched in 2020 to expand youth access to mental health education and resources.
“For me, this is the most important part of partnering with OREO,” Gomez told PEOPLE. “I hope the collaboration will help the organization reach its goal of raising $100 million.”
Where and when to get the Selena Gomez OREO
The Limited Edition Selena Gomez OREO Cookies will be available for presale in the U.S. on June 2 at OREO.com/UnwrapTheCollab and will hit retailers nationwide starting June 9. Shortly after, they’ll launch in Canada, Brazil, Australia, and New Zealand.

OREO + horchata + Selena Gomez? That’s a cultural trifecta we didn’t know we needed.
