Karol G’s Con Cora Foundation Launches LATINA PWR to Train the Next Generation of Latina Leaders
Karol G is expanding her impact far beyond the stage. This September, her Con Cora Foundation launched LATINA PWR for Leadership in partnership with LatinoJustice PRLDEF. The program is designed to empower the next generation of Latina leaders in the United States.
The collaboration is historic. LatinoJustice has trained more than 10,000 participants since its founding in 1972. And this is the first time it has partnered with the Con Cora Foundation. Together, they are creating a new space for Latinas to access leadership training, mentorship, and advocacy tools.
Con Cora Foundation and LatinoJustice join forces
The program will run from September 2025 through July 2026 in New York City. Participants will receive leadership training tailored to breaking systemic barriers, mentorship opportunities with established professionals, and networking resources to build lasting career connections.
They will also attend Know Your Rights workshops centered on immigrant and community advocacy. Most of the women selected will be first-generation college students pursuing careers in law, social justice, and community empowerment.
“Latina PWR is about recognizing the limitless potential of Latinas to transform their lives and their communities. By partnering with LatinoJustice, we’re opening doors for women who not only aspire to professional careers but also want to change the systems that affect thousands of lives,” said Valentina Bueno of the Con Cora Foundation.
Latina leadership is long overdue
The numbers highlight the urgency of this work. According to the Pew Research Center, more than 22 million Latinas lived in the United States in 2022, representing 17% of the nation’s adult women. Yet a 2023 National Women’s Law Center report revealed that over 21% of Latinas were living in poverty.
The Con Cora Foundation initiative directly addresses these disparities. By equipping young women with the tools, education, and mentorship they need, it seeks to break cycles of inequality and expand Latina representation in leadership spaces.
The cultural impact of Con Cora Foundation’s new initiative
The Con Cora Foundation described LATINA PWR for Leadership as a project meant to “strengthen the leadership and academic preparation of Latina immigrant women in the United States.” In a statement, the organization said the program will celebrate “the strength of women who, through their identity and voice, promote the guarantee of rights for their communities and honor Latina culture.”
