Selena Gomez’s Channels Selena Quintanilla and Other Latinas Who Shined on the Red Carpet at the 2024 Emmys
It is the time of the year when Hollywood stars come out to parade their best clothes. This time, the Emmy ceremony is back with a bang, hosted by Anthony Anderson.
After last week’s Golden Globes and Sunday’s Critics Choice Awards, the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards kicked off Monday at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
And no one takes over a red carpet better than our Latinas.
These are def our favorite looks of the night.
Jenna Ortega showed her sweet side
The “Wednesday” star left everyone with an “aw” in their mouths with her Dior Haute Couture look. The dress was crafted in pink tulle des vents embroidered with a silver soutache trellis. Amidst garlands of wisteria, roses and clematis, sequins, and silk, Ortega was definitely the good girl on the red carpet.
Lux Pascal blew us away with her stunning gown
Nothing is more beautiful than a proud sister. This is how Lux Pascal looked on her brother Pedro’s arm on the red carpet of the 2024 Emmys. The “The Last Of Us” actor’s little sister wowed everyone with her beautiful black halterneck dress with cutout details.
Selena Gomez’s nod to the Queen of Tex-Mex
Put together all of Selena Quintanilla’s most iconic looks, and you’ve probably got Selena Gomez on the red carpet at the 2024 Emmy Awards. With over 400,000 sequins, the “Only Murders In the Building” star’s dress was reminiscent of Quintanilla’s look at the Tejano Music Awards in San Antonio in 1993. Her hair was pulled up high, and her Jean Schlumberger by Tiffany Bird on a Rock necklace was the final touch.
Aubrey Plaza brought a laugh, as is her wont
Wearing a pale yellow dress from Loewe’s spring-summer 2024 collection, Aubrey Plaza’s look left us wondering where we had seen it before. Users on Twitter hit the nail on the head by associating the oversized sewing pin with one of our favorite scenes from Sex And The City — and now we can’t un-see it.
Ariana DeBose exuded elegance
In an elegant cream Brunello Cucinelli gown, Ariana DeBose reminded us that she’s not only a talented woman on stage. She is also one of the most elegant everywhere she goes.
Finally, our beloved Salina EsTitties was one of RuPaul’s Drag Race Queens to grace the red carpet
Our favorite Drag Queen, Salina EsTitties, was one of the 12 RuPaul’s Drag Race season 15 queens to accompany the host to the ceremony. The series won its fifth Outstanding Reality-Competition Program award, extending producer and head judge RuPaul’s streak as the most awarded person of color in Emmy history at the 2024 Creative Arts Emmys.
