One of our favorite moments of the Golden Globes was undoubtedly the emotional encounter between Brie Larson and JLo on the red carpet.

Reflecting on Larson’s fangirl moment, JLo said, “It meant so much to me.”

“I don’t think I ever imagined I would have an experience like that with someone who is so talented, and I watch her movies,” Lopez said in response to the special moment.

Jlo and Brie Larson gave us a moment for the ages

Larson almost cried when she realized Jennifer Lopez was right behind her while doing an interview with ET during the Golden Globes red carpet.

“I’m living my dream,” Brie said as host Kevin Frazier pointed to JLo, to which Brie freaked out.

“Oh my God, oh my God…I’m going to cry,” she said. “I can’t with JLo… She’s the reason I wanted to be an actress.”

JLo then took to the platform.

“You mean so much to me,” Brie told JLo as she greeted her, gave her a hug, and said, “I’m a huge fan.”

“I saw Selena, and it made me want to be an actress. She always meant so much to me,” Brie shared. “I just, it’s been a dream for me, so, thank you so much. Your work ethic is so important. Thank you.”

“You’re a sweetheart, thank you,” JLo responded.

Days later, in an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1, JLo shared a little more about what that moment meant

“It makes me cry now because it’s very, very touching because you do it; you give your heart and soul to it when you’re an artist.”

Lopez then reflected on the importance of role models.

“I remember when I was little, and I would watch West Side Story, and I would watch Rita Moreno, and I knew what that meant to me,” the star explained. “When I would look at Brie and see her and stare into her eyes because she was so in tune with me and just [it was] like, ‘I’ve wanted to tell you this for so long.’ … I saw myself, and I saw the little girl, and to think that I did that for someone was really, really overwhelming.”

She continued, “I was really able to take a moment there, and it was really nice to have an experience like that. I don’t think I ever imagined that I would have an experience like that with someone who is so talented and I watch her films, and she’s even my contemporary in a way. … It was a very kind thing that she did, and it meant a lot to me, probably even more than it did to her.”
